What we collect, and what we don't.

This notice describes this version of the site. It will change before we take real claims at volume.

DRAFT. A lawyer has not reviewed this page. It is not a contract and it is not legal advice.

Who we are

RunwayRefund is a flight-compensation claims helper based in Vancouver, Canada. Contact hello@runwayrefund.com. We are not a law firm.

What you can use without an account

The eligibility checker stores the flight details you submit, the estimate, and the time. It does not ask for your name. Those records are kept for 30 days so the result link works, then the page treats them as expired.

What the claim form collects

  • Where you live: country, province or territory, mailing address.
  • The flight, booking reference, what happened, and what the airline said.
  • Lead passenger name, email, and optional phone. Names of other passengers, and whether each is an adult.
  • A boarding pass or booking confirmation, and any airline emails you choose to upload.
  • The three confirmations at the end of the form.

We do not ask for a passport or other ID number, a date of birth, or bank details. Do not put those in the free-text box or in a file name if you can avoid it.

Where it is stored

Without Supabase configured, claims and checks are JSON files on the server running the app, and uploads sit in a private folder next to them. That is the setup for local development. On Vercel that disk is temporary, so a production deployment should set SUPABASE_URL and SUPABASE_SERVICE_ROLE_KEY. The database tables are in supabase/schema.sql. Uploaded files are still written to local disk in this version; the storage bucket in that SQL file is reserved for a later adapter.

Vercel may process requests in the United States. Supabase, once connected, is the intended database. FlightAware is not connected. We do not send claim contents to a payment processor or an AI provider in this version, because those pieces are not built.

Why we would use it

To estimate compensation, to prepare a claim you asked for, and to contact you about that claim. We do not sell personal information. We do not use it for advertising.

Quebec and people outside Canada

The form stops before it asks for your name if you live in Quebec or outside Canada. If a draft was saved and you need it deleted, email hello@runwayrefund.com. There is no automated deletion job yet. Deleting is a manual step until that exists.

How long we keep a claim

Until you ask us to delete it, or until a reviewed policy sets a retention period. Checks expire from the result page after 30 days. This draft does not pretend a retention schedule is in force.

Your requests

Email hello@runwayrefund.com to access, correct, or delete what we hold. We will need enough detail to find the draft, such as the reference number that starts with RR-.
